Designing a Framework to Benefit a Species in Need.
The greater sage-grouse is a native bird found in the western United States and southwest Canada, whose survival is at risk from habitat destruction, modification, and fragmentation. To prevent further threats to this species’ persistence and ensure the economic integrity of Montana, we analyze the ability of a conservation bank to be a platform where ranchers, developers and conservation organizations can come together to protect this iconic species.
